I was looking for a viking themed piece for an outside display at my house. This is just the ticket. The carving is very good, the line details are slightly different from the one pictured as one would expect from hand carving. My piece is about 10.5 inches high by 11 wide. The wood has a slightly waxy texture. This will look very nice on display.

This Viking belt stud is my own design with a dragon motif in the 10th century Jelling style. I have based it on various finds, using my own Jelling style design. The dragon was a well-known motif in Viking art. The vikings told tales of dragons who guarded ancient treasure. In their art they often used the symbol of the dragon as a guardian against danger. The stud has a central rivet that.
In Viking times it was common to use coins as pendants. This is a coin in honor of Ullr, designed in the fashion of the Viking age, but NOT a copy of an existing artifact. The back is a classic cross of double-lines (guides to cutting the coin into quarters) with the text VINLANDMONETA (translation: Vinland Money.
Dragons were a common motif among the Vikings, especially on their sailing ships. Celebrate these warrior people with the Viking Dragon Belt Buckle.

This ring is my own design, using the simple elegance of the Urnes viking art style from the 11th century. The Urnes animal imagery is very stylised and is open to interpretation. Some people see the pattern on this ring as a viking serpent or dragon. This motif occurs often in viking art, symbolising the balancing forces of nature and protection against harm. Alternatively it could represent.
Vikings History: The Viking Age—An Overview Viking is a Verb, Not a Noun. When the quiet monks on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne saw the dragon ships approaching, they didn’t know what was coming. They were fully unprepared for the ferocity of the warriors, armed with sword, axe and shield. The attack and plunder of Lindisfarne, a rich and unprotected monastery, echoed throughout the next.
Re-enactment Viking weapons have to withstand much greater punishment than the originals would have done, as they are used repeatedly each week clashing against opponent's swords and shields to produce exciting combat displays. For this reason all of our swords are produced using modern alloy steels of the highest quality. We are confident that our battle-ready arms will not break so each one.
